JASON TENENBAUM DEFENDS HIMSELF!!!!
Hi there. I am taking this moment to alert many of you to some “content” that has been placed on the internet about me. The content involves accusations that I have been involved in sordid sexual activities in New York. None of this is true. I have to comment because every time the defamatory conduct is taken down, something magically reappears again.
I would note that I believe that the source of the defamation stems from seven lawsuits I have been involved with against Oren Ziv, a former member of my condominium board who has not acted in the best interests of the condominium. The first lawsuit is “Tenenbaum v. Horizon of Westbury, et. al.” The index number is: 602361–2018, and was dismissed without prejudice for procedural reasons. It was pending in Nassau County. An appeal of this order was taken by one of Oren Ziv’s corporations but was recently abandoned.
I brought a new lawsuit in December 2019 entitled Tenenbaum v. Horizon of Westbury, et. al. The index number is: 617441–2019, which is pending and will be addressed on its merits. The Defendants have until April 1, 2021, to answer this lawsuit.
To discuss further: In March 2017, I purchased a condominium unit at this complex in Westbury. The complex since 2007 was illegally run as a sponsored owned board, despite the offering plan (the promise with the Attorney General) that the building would be a resident-run building. This meant that the “sponsor” which is the developer had “control” over the day-to-day functions of the building. The sponsor allowed his friend Oren Ziv (a unit owner and “board member”) to run the day-to-day functions of the building. The accusations in all the complaints are that: (1) Ziv’s “companies” billed for services not provided; (2) Ziv billed for work that was not properly performed; (3) Ziv flagrantly ignored wage and hour laws; (4) Ziv’s work was defective; (5 ) Ziv engaged in self-dealing (he admitted this in interrogatory responses); and (6) Ziv allowed the building deteriorate. Ziv did quite well as he bought a multi-million dollar house in East Norwich and the Horizon of Westbury was the main source of his income. Note the term was.
The Tenenbaum litigation is pending and has been delayed due to the pandemic.
In the meantime, I brought an Article 78 proceeding against Horizon Westbury Condominium in the matter entitled Terk v. Horizon of Westbury Condominium, Index #: 607693–2020, seeking to, in essence, dissolve the Board and to impose a unit owner board. Over strenuous opposition, the Court granted the Petition, demanded that elections are held and the Board of Managers be turned over to the Unit Owners.
Mr. Ziv did not want to hold elections because this would mean that his self-dealing would end and he would lose a significant source of his income. I filed an order to show cause to hold the old Board in contempt of Court. The Court signed the order to show cause, demanded elections be held, and gave a return date to determine whether the “board” should be held in contempt.
Under threat of fines etc., the elections were held and a new board was instituted. As a courtesy, I withdrew the order to show cause.
Following the new board, Oren Ziv and his companies’ contracts were terminated as of March 1, 2021. After this date, magically, defamatory conduct about things I never did, would imagine doing or could do since I live out of state found their way on the internet. While I cannot affirmatively prove that it is Ziv or anyone connected to him that posted this content, the coincidence is quite alarming. I live a relatively quiet and peaceful life and all my squabbles are professional in nature. The only personal issue I have is with Mr. Ziv. Thus, there is nobody else out there who would have such animus that they would spend tremendous resources and time to defame me. In addition to this online defamatory, Mr. Ziv and his attorney have written three (3) essays about me to members of the Horizon of Westbury, and most of the content in these essays is not true and further defamation.
Besides the above, I filed two additional lawsuits against Oren Ziv in his role as “supervisor” for the non-payment of overtime. The first was entitled: Ramirez v. Horizon of Westbury, and this involved the non-payment of overtime for the doormen. The docket # is: 18-cv-00815. This case settled. The second is Edwards v. Horizon of Westbury. The docket # is: 19-cv-04813. This case is pending.
I filed a third case against Mr. Ziv on behalf of Ramirez as Mr. Ramriez worked for a company in which Mr. Ziv was a supervisor and was not properly paid. That case is Ramirez v. Ziv. The index # is 605662/2018.
In addition to the above, Mr. Ziv filed defamation against me in Supreme Court entitled: “Ziv v. Tenenbaum” under Index #: 600569–19. The action was dismissed. Mr. Ziv also brought a foreclosure action against me over a $400 attorney fee dispute, despite allowing his friends, to pay their debts on payment plans. Also, Mr. Ziv may have had his own late fees waived when he owned units — I am awaiting discovery on this issue but this is what was conveyed to me.
I suppose as I have disrupted this man’s lifestyle (sadly his path and mine intersected), he has decided to act outside the legal system and to post smut about me. I now have to write this and to file my own defamation action to stop this nonsense.
Jason Tenenbaum will not stop doing what he is doing even is Oren Ziv continues to post disgusting, lude, and untrue things!
